125 Criminal Proceedings Initiated in Connection with Electoral Crimes; Criminal Prosecution Instituted Against 248 Individuals

Since February 7, the Anti-Corruption Committee has initiated 125 criminal proceedings concerning electoral crimes, including cases of giving and receiving electoral bribes, mediation in electoral bribery, violations of the prohibition on charity during elections, and other related offenses.

In 66 of the aforementioned criminal proceedings, 227 individuals have been detained, and criminal prosecution has been instituted against 248 individuals. Fifteen accused persons have been declared wanted. Custodial measures of restriction involving deprivation of liberty have been imposed on 108 accused persons, including arrest (55) and house arrest (53), while alternative measures of restriction have been imposed on 122 accused persons.

Numerous procedural actions have been carried out in 66 criminal proceedings, including the questioning of more than 300 individuals and searches conducted at a number of offices.

In 21 proceedings, the preliminary investigation concerning 90 individuals has been completed, with indictments prepared for submission to court.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
