The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings carried out by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, established that the deputy head of Spitak department of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, exceeding his official powers, using the influence caused by his position, as well as the circumstances of his previous assistance to an acquaintance, convinced the latter, on condition of keeping his identity secret, to provide the body conducting the criminal proceedings, and later the court, with false information determined by him, as a result of which the said person gave false testimony.
As a result of the abuse of official powers by the mentioned official, significant damage was also caused to the rights of citizens of the Republic of Armenia, namely, based on false testimony given at the instruction of the official, searches were carried out in the apartments and auxiliary buildings of citizens by a court decision, as a result of which the right to the inviolability of the apartment, provided for by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, was violated.
The above-mentioned official was charged with abuse of official powers under Article 441, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. Home arrest was applied as a measure of restriction against him.
The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed. The indictment has been approved by the prosecutor, and the materials of the proceedings have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court of the Republic of Armenia.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
