On May 13, a meeting was held at the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia between representatives of the Committee and the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the U.S. Department of Justice.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Armen Asatryan and FBI Legal Attaché for Armenia and Georgia Alexander Tiguy signed a memorandum of cooperation for an additional three-year term.
According to Armen Asatryan, since the signing of the previous memorandum, seven professional training programs and approximately thirty professional discussions have been organized for employees of the Committee’s investigative and operational-search divisions.
The Deputy Chairman emphasized that these training sessions and discussions were conducted with the continuous and effective support of the U.S. Embassy in Armenia, particularly the Embassy’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, which has made a significant contribution to ensuring the effectiveness and sustainability of the cooperation.
FBI Legal Attaché for Armenia and Georgia Alexander Tiguy noted that the extension of the memorandum will make it possible to continue and deepen cooperation between the parties over the next three years.
Alexander Tiguy reaffirmed that the memorandum reflects the importance of professional relations and that the FBI will continue supporting the effective implementation of anti-corruption efforts.
Summarizing the meeting, Deputy Chairman Armen Asatryan highlighted the importance of the continued development of partnership ties between the two institutions, expressing hope that this cooperation will contribute to strengthening the rule of law, ensuring justice, and increasing public trust.
