Additional Cases of Electoral Bribery Revealed by the Anti-Corruption Committee

As a result of operative-search measures carried out by officers of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, factual evidence was obtained indicating that the territorial coordinator of the “Strong Armenia” party in Ani community of Shirak Marz, together with close relatives and other persons, promised and provided electoral bribes to several voters in exchange for voting in favor of their party during the National Assembly elections scheduled for June 7, 2026. The scheme was disguised as the formal employment of these persons as coordinators or activists in the party’s territorial offices, with the bribe payments presented as salaries.

In addition, a person acting on behalf of the “Strong Armenia” party attempted to obstruct the free exercise of electoral rights of several voters through material inducements and threats related to the consequences of disobeying demands allegedly issued by persons holding high ranks within the criminal hierarchy.

A criminal proceeding has been initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia. Several persons have been detained, and searches and other procedural actions have been conducted.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
