Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia on the basis of a report received from “Haypost” CJSC, it has been established that an official of one of the company’s postal branches, vested with the authority to organize and manage the branch’s operations and to safeguard the funds entrusted to him, abused his official powers and committed embezzlement of entrusted property in a large amount totaling AMD 568,000.

In particular, the preliminary investigation revealed that in October 2025 the said official, for personal purposes, embezzled AMD 425,589 in cash from the branch’s cash desk, as well as commercial goods equivalent to AMD 142,630.

The official was detained and brought before the Anti-Corruption Committee, where he was charged under Article 256, Part 2, Clauses 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The accused admitted his guilt and gave a confession.

The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed, and the materials of the proceedings, together with the indictment, have been referred to the Anti-Corruption Court of the Republic of Armenia.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
