The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings carried out by the RA Anticorruption Committee revealed and substantiated that the former high-ranking official of the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry used his official position against his official interests, namely, in violation of the procedures established by legislative and normative acts regulating the sector, in the absence of necessity, he initiated the process of concluding contracts for acquisition of relevant works for a total amount of about AMD 360,000,000, based on which the specified amount was unreasonably allocated from the RA state budget.

As a result of the obvious criminal actions described, significant loss was caused to the legitimate interests of the state: the procedure for the formation of a state order for the needs of the state was violated, contracts were concluded in violation of the specified procedure, according to which there was no need for acquisition of works, and a particularly large amount was unreasonably allocated from the RA state budget for the purchase of unnecessary works, inadvertently causing serious consequences. For the above-mentioned criminal acts, the former high-ranking official was charged under Article 308, Part 2 (3 episodes) of the Criminal Code of RA, adopted on April 18, 2003.

The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed. The materials of the proceedings, together with the indictment, have been sent to the supervising prosecutor with a motion to approve it and submit it to the court.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
