At a joint session of the Standing Committees on State and Legal Affairs and Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly held on 10 June, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia Artur Nahapetyan presented the summary report on the performance of the Committee’s 2025 budget.

Artur Nahapetyan informed that the Committee’s annual budget for 2025 amounted to AMD 3.464 billion, while actual expenditures totaled AMD 3.388 billion, resulting in a budget performance rate of 97.8%. He noted that, compared to the previous year, the Committee’s expenditures increased by AMD 270 million, or 8.7%, primarily due to staff recruitment.

With regard to performance indicators, Artur Nahapetyan stated that the total number of criminal proceedings investigated by the Committee reached 2,585, compared to 2,289 in the previous year, while the number of detected corruption crimes amounted to 2,057, compared to 1,585 in the previous year.

Responding to questions from Members of Parliament, Artur Nahapetyan emphasized that despite limited staffing levels, the Anti-Corruption Committee had carried out extensive work aimed at detecting electoral crimes. According to the Chairman, 72 investigator positions and 78 operational-search officer positions have been filled. At the same time, he noted that the Committee currently has nearly 60 vacant positions. Nevertheless, even with its existing capacity, the Committee has demonstrated considerable effectiveness, carrying out more than 100 detections across the country and investigating approximately 115 criminal proceedings, the number of which is expected to increase further.

The Chairman of the Committee also emphasized that territorial subdivisions are planned to be established in all marzes of the Republic of Armenia in the near future, and that this process has already been underway since last year.
