As a result of measures undertaken by officers of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, sufficient factual data have been obtained regarding cases in which a Russia-based blogger, M. B., offered services and other advantages to hundreds of citizens of the Republic of Armenia residing in the Russian Federation in exchange for voting in the regular elections of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, thereby committing acts of electoral bribery; in connection with these incidents, a criminal proceeding has been initiated at the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
All measures prescribed by law are being undertaken to identify citizens residing abroad who allegedly received electoral bribes and to apply the liability measures established by law in respect of them.
The Committee urges citizens who have received electoral bribes or possess information regarding offers of electoral bribes to cooperate with the preliminary investigation body by providing the information and circumstances known to them, and to refrain from engaging in any actions related to electoral bribery, influencing the free expression of voters’ will, or other electoral offenses.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
