The preliminary investigation under the criminal case initiated in the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia based on the materials received from the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia established that in the years 2024-2025, two officials of the office of the head of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan, by prior agreement, knowing in advance about advertising billboards illegally installed on supermarkets, hotel complexes, as well as various stores, filling stations, public food courts and a number of other buildings operating in the same administrative district, with the assistance of a number of persons, demanded and received bribes in various amounts from representatives of the above-mentioned business entities in order not to dismantle them and not to record violations.

In addition, during the preliminary investigation, it was established that one of the said officials, knowing in advance about the absence of a permit to carry out activities (license) for a private entrepreneur carrying out hotel business in this administrative district, and the failure to pay the established state fee to the municipality, on December 27, 2024, demanded and received a bribe from him in exchange for not recording the violation and not hindering the work of the private entrepreneur.

As a result of the above-mentioned illegal actions of the officials, a total of about AMD 2 million was not paid to the municipal budget. During the preliminary investigation, 13 persons, including officials of the office of the head of Shengavit administrative district, were charged with receiving, aiding, and giving bribes. The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
