Within criminal proceedings initiated as a result of operative-search measures conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, it was established that the Director of “Sevan Medical Center” CJSC, abusing his official powers, committed large-scale embezzlement of entrusted property and document forgery as part of a group.

Specifically, it was established that in 2022 the aforementioned director hired a close person who, from that time until November 2024, did not attend work and did not perform any job duties.

The preliminary investigation also established that the director, having entered into a prior agreement with another employee of the same medical center, prepared forged documents indicating that the person had attended work, as a result of which excess salary payments in the amount of AMD 2,238,745 were made from the center’s budget.

The director of the MC was charged under Articles 256, Part 2, Clauses 2 and 3 and 457, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. A ban on absence and suspension from office was selected as a measure of restriction against him. The director's close person and the employee of the MC were charged under Articles 46-256, Part 2, Clauses 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

During the preliminary investigation, the damage caused to the state in the amount of AMD 2,238,745 has been fully compensated.

The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed, and the materials of the proceedings, along with the indictment, have been referred to the Anti-Corruption Court of the Republic of Armenia.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
