Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated at the Anti-Corruption Committee on the basis of measures carried out by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia and the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, factual data were obtained indicating that the chairperson of a precinct commission of the “Strong Armenia” Alliance of Political Parties, taking advantage of the opportunity provided by law to nominate members of precinct electoral commissions, gave preference, when selecting commission members, to those persons who agreed, on the condition of being included in the commission and receiving remuneration for it, to ensure both their own vote and the votes of a specific number of persons recruited by them, in effect using membership in the commission and the remuneration provided for it as a means of obtaining votes.

Criminal proceedings were initiated in connection with the incident; a number of persons were detained, and searches were conducted.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
