The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings carried out by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, established that the former director of “Gavar Orphanage” SNCO under the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs illegally participated in the management of a business organization through persons closely associated with him between 2013 and 2021, granting benefits and advantages to that organization.

In particular, from November 2015 to 2021, in violation of statutory prohibitions, the official organized heating of a café-restaurant owned by his close associates at the expense of the orphanage, and from 2013 until September 2018 ensured the supply of electricity and water.

The former director has been charged under Article 310 of the former Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (corresponding to Article 442, Part 1 of the Criminal Code adopted on May 5, 2021).

The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed, and the materials of the proceedings with the indictment have been submitted to the supervising prosecutor for approval and referral to court.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
