Within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated as a result of measures carried out by officers of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia and the Shirak Regional Department of the National Security Service, factual evidence was obtained that a member of the “Prosperous Armenia” Party, who was also a parliamentary candidate and acted on behalf of the party, provided electoral bribes to a number of voters in exchange for voting in favor of the party and for recruiting people willing to support the party in return for payment.

In connection with the case, public criminal prosecutions have been initiated within the criminal proceedings. Several persons have been detained, and searches and other procedural actions have been carried out.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
