The Chairman of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee Artur Nahapetyan received the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos. Highlighting the support of international partners, including the European Union, in the process of establishing and developing the Committee’s capabilities, Artur Nahapetyan noted that corruption today is not only a problem of individual countries, but also a transnational phenomenon, international cooperation in the fight against which is very important.

The Head of the EU Delegation stressed the need to establish strong anti-corruption institutions, noting that the various training programs continuously implemented by the EU are an important component of anti-corruption measures. During the meeting, in particular, the effectiveness of the implementation of various training programs for the employees of the Anti-Corruption Committee related to the investigation of cases of money laundering and financial crimes, and the importance of the work related to requests for international mutual legal assistance, were discussed. The support of international partners, the possibility of developing the capabilities of the Committee's employees in the fight against corruption, and the introduction of the latest information technologies were also discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee expressed hope that continuous meetings and close joint work with European partners will give new impetus to the cooperation of law enforcement agencies and ensure significant results in solving corruption crimes.
