The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceeding initiated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee established that a resident of Abovyan town, having learned about the citizen's desire to obtain a driving license, met with the latter and presented untrue information that he was allegedly the deputy head of the registration and examination department of Abovyan Department of the «Road Police» Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs.

At the same time, he assured that he could organize the process of obtaining a driving license without passing the theoretical and practical exams in the established manner and without receiving a positive grade, in exchange for a bribe of AMD 300,000. According to the agreement, on May 21, 2024, the citizen transferred the bribe amount through an intermediary to the account specified by the above-mentioned person.

The latter assured that he would allegedly undertake the implementation of the process, but did not take any measures to provide the citizen with the driving license. Instead, he received money under the pretext of accepting a bribe, for which he was charged under Article 440, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed, and the materials of the proceedings, together with the indictment, have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court of the Republic of Armenia.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
