The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings investigated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, established that the person who held the position of the principal of the secondary school of Eraskhaհun of Armavir Marz of the Republic of Armenia, using his official powers and the influence caused by them, as well as committing official fraud, during the years 2023-2025, embezzled a total of about AMD 3 million from the financial resources entrusted to him.
In particular, a number of persons affiliated with the school principal, having been appointed by his order to the positions of repairman, janitor and cleaner of the aforementioned school, did not attend work at all during different periods from 2023 to 2025, but received a total of about AMD 3 million as salary for work they did not actually perform. Moreover, the director compiled and approved with his signature and seal the work time sheets of the above-mentioned persons, according to which the latter were allegedly at work during the specified period.
The principal of Yeraskhahun secondary school was charged with committing embezzlement of a large amount and official forgery under Article 256, Part 2, Clauses 2 and 3 (3 episodes) and Article 445, Part 1 (3 episodes) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. Suspension of powers and a ban on absence from the Republic of Armenia has been selected as a combined measure of restriction against him. Charges were also brought against 3 persons who assisted the principal. During the preliminary investigation, the accused has fully recovered the damage caused by the alleged crime, which amounted to about AMD 3 million. The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed, and the materials of the proceedings together with the indictment have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court of the Republic of Armenia.
Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
