The Preliminary Investigation Has Been Completed Against the Officials of the Yerevan State Technological College and the Citizen Who Gave the Bribe.

The criminal proceedings initiated following operative-search actions conducted by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee established that officials of the “Yerevan State Technological College” SNCO, using their official powers and the influence derived therefrom, and acting as part of a group, received a bribe for committing illegal actions and inactions in the interests of a citizen.

It was established during the preliminary investigation that the citizen, having learned in advance from the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs that his son had failed the state examination, acting in prior agreement, transferred a bribe in the amount of USD 500 to the College Director and his Deputy for Academic Affairs in exchange for assigning a passing grade.

Furthermore, during the preliminary investigation, another instance of illegal actions in the interests of the citizen’s son was revealed. In particular, in 2025, in order to obtain a driving license, he addressed to a resident of Yerevan, who promised to arrange the process by transferring a bribe in the amount of AMD 400,000 to an official, to which the citizen agreed.

As a result, the person who received the money under the pretext of mediating the bribery appropriated it for personal use, while the citizen, due to circumstances beyond his control, was unable to complete the offense.

The director of the “Yerevan State Technological College” SNCO and his deputy have been charged with bribery as part of a group under Article 435, Part 2, Item 1 and 3, Clause 2, and 435, Part 2, Clause 3, and 44-436, Part 2, Clause 3, of the RA Criminal Code.

The preliminary investigation under the criminal proceedings has been completed, and the materials of the proceedings have been sent to the supervising prosecutor for approval and subsequent referral to the court.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
