Within the framework of proceedings initiated on the basis of operational-search measures conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee, factual evidence has been obtained indicating that a group of persons acting on behalf of the “Strong Armenia” Party promised and provided electoral bribes to a number of eligible voters in exchange for voting for the party in the National Assembly elections and participating in election campaigning. To conceal the scheme, the payments were disguised as salaries allegedly paid through the party’s territorial offices.

The Anti-Corruption Committee has initiated a criminal proceeding. Several persons have been detained, searches have been conducted, and other procedural measures have been carried out.

Notification. the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a verdict entered into legal force.
